PureWow Wine E-Commerce Launch

UI/UX FOR E-COMMERCE

Summary: In 2017, PureWow launched a new content vertical: PureWow Wine. It was also PureWow' first major push for e-commerce. The goal of PureWow wine was to provide a home for all wine content while also building out an e-commerce component that worked with the back-end of www.winelibrary.com. PureWow Wine serves to educate our reader about wine while also helping them find the wines they want to buy.

Challenge: Launch a brand extension for PureWow Wine content that ties editorial and e-commerce experiences. For the e-commerce component, ensure that the user can easily filter to find the wine they want.

Timeline: 6 months

Team: Design Lead with a product manager and front-end developers.

Role: Design Lead - Design the prototypes for the UI/UX of the editorial content and the e-commerce component. Provide specific HTML/CSS/JS specs for the engineering team and work with them to QA the prototype once it is built.

Solution: By marrying the editorial voice of PureWow with an e-commerce component so that users can shop for wine, I helped the user easily discover editorial content during their shopping experience. I also included content modules that serve to re-circulate wine content so that the user can continue to discover more content. By adding specific filters to this "Explore More Wine" module, I allow the user to more easily navigate through the innumerable pages of wine content on PureWow.com.

Software: Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, Invision, HTML, CSS
